Barcelo Raval Hotel

How fantastic is this hotel in Spain? It's called the Barcelo Raval and its unique ceilings are getting some well-deserved praise. Apparently, the tubes are made from flexible melamine resin foam that absorbs sound and reduces noise reverberations (pretty cool!). I am also loving the life-sized horse lamp in the lobby, the over-sized damask light shades lining the dining room and the pink fabric wall in the seating area.

A great place to work

I work hard - but it's my mandate to play as many hours as I work. Sometimes those leisurely hours still require a work space. I would love to spend that time in any one of these home offices! They would make any amount of work or play enjoyable. Currently, my boyfriend and I share a desk. When space allows I would love to have an office of my own and I have a few requirements.

Lots of white furniture, interesting shapes and patterns, a fantastic lamp and space for a big inspiration board.

My dream home

Varying shades of whites, creams and grays. Layers of textured fabrics and patterned wall paper. Touches of metallic, lucite and mirrored accessories. Rich brown furniture and small bursts of colour. Is this girl living inside my head? She is definitely living in my dream home! I am jealous of every room in this house from Simply Grove. One day it will be mine.

Sarah's Rooms

Sarah Richardson's interior style is my ultimate favourite! She has this way of combining welcoming colour palettes with natural textures that make me want to pack up my stuff and move right in. I don't think I have ever disliked a single one of her rooms. Here are some of the ones I really love.

In The Loop

Some very sweet friends just gave us these fantastic candle sticks as a house warming gift. The Loop candelabra is inspired by the Fibonacci curve that is seen throughout nature and looks correct and balanced to the human eye. I just think they look beautiful. I would love to pick up a few more sets to twist together like the ones in these images.

Twisted Chandelier

Check out this Glasses Chandelier by designer John Harrington. Made from 150-300 glasses - this piece is quite the show stopper!

Vintage Suitcase Chairs

I was totally taken aback by these chairs made from vintage suitcases at Recreate. They are wonderfully unique and have the perfect balance of old and new. The purple and brown one would make a great compliment to my new pillows that I oh-so-love!

Presto Change-o!

Since we moved, I have been dying for new sofa cushions. Our old ones did us good but that's be honest, they look a little haggard! I really wanted to give the sofa a face lift and set out on a mission for rich colours and a strong graphic pattern. Enter the Radius Pillow from Crate and Barrel. Everything about it was love at first sight - except for the price tag. Fast forward through 4 weeks of stalking it online and a generous housewarming gift (Thanks Bubie!) - my sofa is now feeling the love thing too! Now I just need a chocolate brown throw and something to dress that naked wall.

New Site Find: DecorPad

Bookmarking sites have made my life a lot easier. I love that I can keep all my finds in one place (I especially adore WeHeartIt- its full of amazing photos and images). The added bonus: they introduce me to new things! Which is exactly how I landed on DecorPad - a bookmarking site dedicated to decorating, renovating and home building. It has the most unbelievable pictures of every room in the house to satisfy any design style. Plus, they have a useful Look 4 Less section filled with their own (an user generated) designer steals.
